Program Learning Outcomes for the BS Degree with a Major in Astrophysics

　　Upon completing the BS degree with a major in Astrophysics, students will be able to:

　　Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental concepts in Mechanics.

　　Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental concepts in Electromagnetism.

　　Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental concepts in Quantum Mechanics.

　　Be knowledgeable in fundamental topics in Astrophysics.

　　Demonstrate proficiency in research techniques and methodology under guidance of a faculty member.

Entry requirements for Rice University

　　homeschooled. The new, redesigned SAT (Reading/Writing/Language and Math - SAT Essay is optional). The ACT (Writing is optional). If you have received two years of instruction in English, you are not required to submit the TOEFL or IELTS. The minimum acceptable score on the TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) is 100, or a sum total of 75 on the TOEFL PDT (paper-delivered test). The minimum acceptable score on the IELTS is 7.
