About the course

The degree in Architectural Engineering is part of a four-year ABET-accredited program that includes a capstone design project in the fourth year. Building upon WPI?s expertise in mathematics and basic science, the program delivers a broad foundation in engineering sciences related to the build environment. Then, utilizing WPI?s unique strengths in project-based education, humanities, and social sciences, you?ll be prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to become responsible leaders within the field of sustainable building design.

　　As you work to earn a degree in Architectural Engineering at WPI, you?ll focus on developing technical skills in four core areas: structural systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and construction/construction management. In addition to general courses for architectural engineering, you may focus your design proficiency in either the structural or mechanical area with electives like Design of Steel Structures, Pre-stressed Concrete Design, and Building Energy Simulation.
