About the course

A bachelor?s degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics will get you career ready by teaching sophisticated computational skills and applying those skills in real-world, collaborative scenarios. Purdue University Northwest?s computational mathematics concentration provides additional emphasis to the use to computers as tools. This program will leave graduates ready to pursue fast-paced, competitive and high-paying job opportunities.

　　This program prepares students for careers based on the use of sophisticated computational skills and provides the opportunity for students to work with talented peers and experienced faculty on research projects in applied mathematics and statistics. This includes participating in joint projects with colleagues in engineering and the sciences. In this concentration, much emphasis is given to the use of the computer as a tool to solve mathematically modeled physical problems. Completing this concentration offers students a large variety of high-paying career options, as many different types of organizations hire computational scientists (e. g., analytics and forecasting organizations, computer information and software firms, insurance companies, government labs, research offices and agencies, universities, engineering research organizations, and financial service and investment management firms).

　　The main goal of the Applied Mathematics and Statistics Concentration in Computational Mathematics Program is to provide a degree where students integrate their interest and ability in mathematics with the use of computer programming and its applications from a mathematical perspective. How to apply

Entry requirements for Purdue University Northwest

PNW will accept unofficial copies of academic transcripts to start the international admissions process. Upon matriculation, documents should be sent or hand-delivered in an envelope, sealed by a secondary school, college, university or examination board. DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS. Students may upload unofficial transcripts through our online application system (under the status page, where it states upload materials).? If the original is not in English, a certified, detailed translation should be included.

　　If the student is in their final year of secondary school, they should submit current secondary school transcripts for review and can submit final transcripts and examinations upon graduation.

　　International Admissions completes the credential evaluation for undergraduate, English Language Program and non-degree students, and we do not require a WES or ECE credential evaluation report.

　　TOEFL (IBT), with a score of 79 or higher, (IELTS), with a score of at least 6.5 or higher

　　100-110 Duolingo English Test score band.

　　Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
