About the course
Managing the milk. Dairy products ? such as milk, butter and cheese ? are an important part of the American diet, and they play a critical role in the global agriculture economy. This program focuses on the efficient production of high-quality dairy products. You will learn all aspects of milk production, from the physiology of lactation to the management of a modern dairy. Explore animal nutrition and reproduction, dairy production and manufacturing, farm management and other topics. Much of your education will take place in the on-campus labs and animal centers, where you might learn how to maximize the value of retail cuts or explore pregnancy rates and grazing management systems. You could also help care for more than 100 milking Holsteins at the university?s dairy research and teaching center. Learn about all aspects of milk production, from the physiology of lactation to the management of a modern dairy in a program preparing you for a role in the global agriculture economy. Entry requirements for University of Idaho
Undergraduate applicants who have no previous work at the post-secondary level must have at least a 2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) from a secondary school.
Official secondary school transcripts showing subjects, marks received and graduation date. If you have not yet graduated from secondary school, a transcript showing all completed work may be accepted for early admission.
