Bachelor of Music - Voice

About the course

Our most intensive degree, the Bachelor of Music is the traditional course of study for students wishing to pursue music at the graduate and professional level. With the option to focus studies in areas such as composition, musicology, performance, and jazz studies, just to name a few, this degree option is ideal as a foundation for future music studies.

The Voice Area at UNC boasts a long tradition of excellence and vitality. All of our voice studios are housed in the Kenan Music Building. Encompassing 80-90 voice students and two sections of class voice, the area is thriving. In recent years, the Voice Area has hosted clinicians including Metropolitan Opera stars, Alexandra LoBianco, Isabelle Leonard, Lucas Meachem, Christine Goerke, Anthony Dean Griffey, Nathan Gunn, Dawn Upshaw, David Daniels, Frederica von Stade, and Angela Brown. Other recent clinicians include Kristin Chavez, Isai Jess Muñoz, Victoria Clark, Gabriel Kahane, Elizabeth Bishop, Patricia Miller, Donna Roll, Eric Mitchko, John Patrick, and Michael Maniaci, as well as Karen Hall and George Shirley via Skype.
