About the course

The Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance prepares students for careers in Instrumental or Vocal Jazz Performance. This major offers comprehensive course work in jazz solo and ensemble literature and emphasizes public performances and technique.The BM in Jazz Performance requires completion of the common requirements for all Bachelor of Music degrees including general education courses and the Music Core. In addition, students follow the Jazz Performance Core along with elective courses chosen in accordance with an adviser for a total of at least 130 credit hours. In order to be considered for acceptance into the BM in Jazz Performance, students must pass an audition for acceptance into an applied study program.
