About the course
The Music Education (K-12 Broadfield) option at Montana State is specifically designed for students who wish to become licensed to teach music to elementary, middle and high school students in kindergarten through grade 12. Music Education students are classified as either Instrumental or Choral majors have a variety of performance opportunities throughout their career at MSU, including a broad spectrum of ensembles that range from choral groups to marching bands. These performance opportunities, combined with a mixture of music theory and education courses, prepare Music Education students for licensure in the state of Montana. How to apply
Entry requirements for Montana State University
Graduation from a high school accredited by the state accrediting agency, or a passing score on an approved high school equivalency exam such as HiSET or GED. Students who complete their secondary education through home schooling or at unaccredited secondary schools may be admitted as long as they have satisfactorily performed on the ACT or SAT test and provide a final high school transcript prior to enrollment at MSU. Freshmen will be considered for admission on the basis of their secondary school record and their English proficiency. Applicants who can prove their English language proficiency and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5/4.0 on a U.S. scale will qualify for admission. Obtaining a minimum required score on an English Proficiency examination: Internet-based TOEFL test (iBT) – 71, Paper-based TOEFL test (PBT) – 525, IELTS - 6.0
