About the course

Whether you want to spend your career instilling a love of music in young children, helping older children develop their skills, or working in academia, we have a music education program that will fit your needs. You can choose from four different areas of emphasis: choral, general, band, or orchestra. No matter which area you choose, you’ll receive a comprehensive education that gives you the tools you need to succeed as a teacher as well as extensive performance experience. You’ll participate in at least one ensemble each semester of your academic journey—and you can join multiple ensembles. What types of ensembles you choose will depend on your musical focus and interests. We have more than two dozen bands, choirs, orchestras, and other ensembles from which to choose. How to apply

Entry requirements for Indiana University - Bloomington

You must earn a diploma from an accredited high school (or must have completed the Indiana High School Equivalency Diploma) to be eligible for admission consideration. Students who are homeschooled or attend an alternative school should submit credentials that demonstrate equivalent levels of achievement and ability. Incoming freshmen must submit complete final secondary school transcripts.SAT scores for admitted freshmen is typically 1180–1380, range of ACT scores is typically 25–32.
