About the course

Our degree in medicine (MBBS) will train you to become a professional, compassionate doctor. Offering an innovative approach to medical education, we focus on early patient contact - you'll see patients in clinical settings from the very first year. Offering outstanding teaching in state-of-the-art facilities and a welcoming, multicultural environment, our MBBS programme places considerable emphasis on developing your expertise in a whole range of practical areas, including clinical, communication, observation, teamwork and leadership skills. You’ll spend Years 1 and 2 largely on campus in Preston. In Years 3, 4 and 5 you will study at either the Burnley or Westlakes campus and also undertake clinical placements in a wide variety of locations preparing you for a career as a qualified doctor. This course is open to international (non UK) students and a limited number of places will be available for UK students from the North West of England. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Central Lancashire

AAB at A Level. At least two science subjects to include Chemistry and a third academic subject.A recognised honours degree in any science subject at 2:1 or above or equivalent or, a recognised degree in a health care profession at 2:1 or above or equivalent with at least one year’s professional work experience. (A master's qualification or higher degree does not compensate for these degree requirements).

  Students must be able to provide evidence of sustained academic achievement (GCSE or equivalent to include English Language B or higher) with a broad study of Science and Math up to the age of 15-16. UK applicants not meeting the English Language requirement should read the detailed entry requirements via the link below. English as medium of instruction will not be accepted for any student.
