You will select two concentrations (from humanities, social sciences and interdisciplinary disciplines) and take a minimum of six courses in each concentration. Sample concentrations include theatre arts, legal studies and economics (see Approved Concentrations below for a complete list).
You will also choose courses to meet the Interdisciplinary Focus requirement, which ties everything together. Most students take Foundations in Liberal Studies in their sophomore year and Capstone in Liberal Studies in their senior year.
The BLA concentration in Medieval and Renaissance Studies explores European society and its interactions with world cultures between the 5th – 17th centuries. The program examines how aspects of the Middle Ages and Renaissance created, and persist into, the modern day. Students will learn to perform historically grounded analysis of art, music, literature, theatre, and philosophy, as well as political and social systems, including genders, race, social class, and religions. They will gain skills in careful research, critical analysis, effective writing, and communication. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
