In our Legal Advice Clinic you’ll gain valuable experience, solving the legal problems of clients under the guidance of a managing solicitor.Our tourism and event management degree has been awarded the South Australian Tourism Award for Education and Training, and admitted to the SA Tourism Hall of Fame. With our business degrees, the options for enriching your study experience are extensive. You can also choose to incorporate real-world international experience into your studies with a student exchange to Europe, Asia or the Americas.Develop an advanced understanding of key legal principles, processes and methods with a professional law honours degree.Undertake a professional placement, a law reform project or high-level research in your final year.Experience our on-campus moot court and learn what it’s like to act as an advocate and present before a judge.Benefit from opportunities to complete a tourism and events industry placement and overseas exchange to Europe, Asia or the Americas.

  Career outcomes - :

  Immigration consultant: assisting clients with the appropriate legal requirements and documentation to emigrate from one country to another for study, work, travel or business purposes, understanding of immigration law and visa law

  Occupational health, safety and welfare adviser: supporting the development of policies and programs, advising and instructing on various safety-related topics, reviewing existing policies and updating according to legislation, organising WHS training

  Project manager: ensuring projects are delivered on time and according to project plans, managing project team resources, scheduling, preparation and resource forecasting, managing vendors and suppliers, managing budgets

  Risk management consultant: conducting risk assessment and proposing preventative measures for small, medium and large scale events

  Solicitor: commercial solicitor: focusing on business-specific legal practice such as: corporate, contract, competition, communications, commercial property, finance, employment, intellectual property, transport, sports and media law

  personal solicitor: focusing on areas such as personal injury, family and tort law, criminal litigation, succession and inheritance, residential property, taxation and trusts

Entry requirements for University of South Australia

Recent secondary education : Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C- or equivalent AND Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and achieved a competitive Selection Rank (ATAR), or Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE, or Complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 24 points.

  Higher education study : Complete or partly complete a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Complete at least four Open Universities Australia (OUA) courses at undergraduate level or above.
