About the course

A Bachelor of Game Design and Development expands on design, artistic and technical skills for creating modern games and interactive projects. It covers the creation of elements such as environments, characters and stories for immersive experiences, and provides hands-on experience with industry-standard software.

　　Throughout this game design degree you will work alongside lecturers who’ll offer practical industry insights while you develop enhanced skills in 2D, 3D, animation, environment art, character art and an understanding of user experience in games. Working in teams, you’ll develop electronic games across various platforms, including online, mobile and console in a similar environment to a real-world studio. As well as giving you practical skills, knowledge and design capability, the Bachelor of Game Design and Development also encourages a holistic approach, enhancing your soft skills such as communication, commercial acumen, and an understanding of business realities. How to apply

Entry requirements for Billy Blue College of Design

Year 12 with minimum ATAR 60 or equivalent.

　　Work experience, and/or other formal, informal or non-formal study attempted and/or completed, OR

　　Design portfolio (6-10 pieces of original creative work)

　　IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 minimum or equivalent, with no skills band less than 5.5.

　　Applicants with higher education study :

　　completed higher education qualification at AQF level 5 (diploma) or above, or equivalent, from an Australian University or another accredited higher education provider

　　OR

　　Successful completion of at least 1 EFTSL (equivalent full time student load, or one full year) of an AQF level 6 (Associate Degree) or above, or equivalent, from an Australian University or another accredited higher education provider

　　Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study:

　　completed vocational education qualification at AQF level 4 (Certificate IV) or above, or equivalent, from a registered training organisation (RTO)

　　OR

　　Successful completion of at least 1 EFTSL (equivalent full time student load, or one full year) of an AQF level 5 (Diploma) or above, or equivalent, at a registered training organisation (RTO)
