About the course

The teaching philosophy of the University of Miami painting program holds to the principle that technical facility and the creative imagination are interdependent. Our undergraduate program is based on our rigorous sequence of classes and is designed to train each painting student to both skillfully render representational images and to create successful abstractions in oil and acrylic paint and then to use these fundamental skills to make original art. By going to the coures descriptions in the painting sequence you will see how we implement this progression.

　　Many of our other full-time and adjunct professors are accomplished, exhibiting painters and all of them are available to critique your work. This is a structured but nurturing environment for young artists, hard work and new ideas are welcome, and students who exhibit these qualities are assured of specialized individual attention according to their needs. Entry requirements for University of Miami

If you have attended a secondary school outside of the United States, you must submit your official secondary school documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.) to Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. for a course-by-course evaluation and grade point average calculation that will be sent directly to us. Please note that we will only accept official evaluations directly from Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. Paper Based TOEFL (PBT): 550, Internet Based TOEFL (IBT): 80, IELTS (Academic): 6.5.
