About the course

Start your career in the growing field of UX Design. UX designers emphasize a positive customer experience and take the time to learn about people and their preferences through a deep understanding of end users.

　　The undergraduate Communication Design program graduates effective conceptual thinkers and creative problem-solvers in the areas of Graphic Design and User-Experience Design. In both concentrations, students begin by learning to use the basic elements and principles of design and apply design thinking and design process to learn concepts, technology, image-making, color theory, typography, user analysis and client needs, wireframing and prototyping as students create a wide and diverse visual means of communication.

　　User-experience designers do more than merely design and implement digital interfaces. Students who complete the User-Experience Design track will be well prepared to embark on creative careers that allow them to work in teams, and create, implement and sustain effective and valuable products, services and systems.

　　The B.F.A. in Communication Design develops designers who are conceptual thinkers, creative problem solvers and socially responsible citizens. Our graduates are regularly recognized in national and international design competitions and have a high placement rate at top design, interactive and advertising firms throughout the country. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of North Texas

Submit official transcripts showing courses, graduation, and/or degree earned from:

　　High school/Secondary school

　　Graduation + 3 years attendance (includes U.S. Department of Defense school)

　　College/University

　　Completion of Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree

　　Completion of two university-level, academic English courses (excludes English as a Second Language courses) for a total of 6 credit hours with a grade of C or higher in both courses

　　Completion of 30+ hours of university-level, academic coursework with an overall GPA of 2.25 or equivalent. Student must be enrolled at the time of application and must have maintained continuous enrollment prior to their transfer to UNT.

　　International Baccalaureate- Grade 5 on the Higher-Level English A1 subject

　　IELTS- 6.0 overall band
