The professional undergraduate degree in the visual arts is the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. This degree allows the student to specialize in a particular area of art or to explore multiple studio areas in order to prepare for a professional career. The B.F.A. (Studio Art) is appropriate for the student who desires to be a professional artist. Students may specialize in a particular area of emphasis, including ceramics, drawing, fibers, graphic design, metalsmithing, painting, photography, printmaking, or sculpture, or they may choose to study a variety of studio areas. Entry requirements for East Tennessee State University
Original or certified grade/mark sheets for secondary school (transcripts). 2.3 GPA on a U.S. 4.0 scale required. ACT/SAT scores required for international freshman applicants under the age of 21 who graduated from a U.S. high school. Paper-based TOEFL score of 500, computer based TOEFL score of 173, or internet based TOEFL score of 61. IELTS Score of 5.5.
