About the course

UNC Greensboro students in the BFA and BA Program with a concentration in Photography are offered a wide array of classes in digital, analog, and historical photographic processes as a way to master the craft and define your vision as contemporary image makers. UNCG’s program encourages and supports each student as they develop their own artistic vision through technical instruction with an emphasis on critical thinking.

Photography students have the opportunity to study abroad biannually in different countries, including Iceland, France, and Ireland.

Students enrolled in ART 487 participate in the National For Freedoms Project to create a large-scale public art project, which has taken students to NYC and Los Angeles as well as cities and towns in North Carolina.

The Photography Triplette fund has brought notable artists to give public talks as well as meet one on one with photo students in individualized critiques. Artists include Emmet Gowin, Nina Berman, Abelardo Morell, Rania Matar, Keith Carter, McNair Evans, and many more.

The Triplette Fund provides a generous yearly scholarship for a student with a concentration in photography. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
