About the course

Centered in child development and music cognition, our students are prepared to teach and supervise music in public schools. We offer three concentrations certified by the State Department of Public Instruction: Instrumental (K-12 Certification), Choral (K-12 Certification), and General Music Education (K-12 Certification). 100% Professional Teaching Placement for students who successfully complete our degree program. Graduates choose to enter K-12 Public or Private school settings in urban, suburban, as well as rural communities. Upon entrance into the program, students receive multiple opportunities to observe and support Milwaukee area teachers in a variety of settings to help them identify their interests and strengths within the spectrum of music teaching. Entry requirements for University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
