Trent?s B.E.S.S. degree offers students a holistic understanding of the environment, bringing together topics in science and the arts to solve key environmental issues. You?ll learn about water, air, soil, ecosystems, as well as the relationships between the environment and policy, planning and human interactions. You?ll also gain an understanding of how humans experience the environment, as well as contemporary environmental issues, to help shape an environmentally sustainable future. Civil engineers plan, design, develop and manage projects for the construction or repair of buildings, earth structures, powerhouses, roads, airports, railways, rapid transit facilities, bridges, tunnels, canals, dams, ports and coastal installations and systems related to highway and transportation services, water distribution and sanitation. Civil engineers may also specialize in foundation analysis, building and structural inspection, surveying, geomatics and municipal planning. Civil engineers are employed by engineering consulting companies, in all levels of government, by construction firms and in many other industries, or they may be self-employed. How to apply
Entry requirements for Trent University
All students are required to have the following for admission to all programs:
High School diploma
TOEFL - 86 IBT with a minimum writing score of 20 OR 580 PBT with a minimum TWE score of 4.5 , IELTS - 6.5, with no band below 6.0
Minimum overall score of 26 in IB diploma, including three courses at the Higher Level. Transfer creditsmay be offered for IB HL courses with a grade of 5
