About the course

Computer engineers influence the way we work and play in our technology-driven, interconnected world. You?ll use scientific and practical knowledge in digital circuit technology to build electronics systems and devices that benefit lives. Create hardware, firmware, software and interfacing systems that let computers communicate with each other and the world. Enhance your skills through an optional paid co-operative internship, an optional specialization in Management Sciences, a summer research internship and leading-edge research projects.

  This option provides students with a solid foundation in innovation and entrepreneurship theory as well as the immersive experience of advancing and shaping an idea into a business. The lecture courses cover principles of engineering economics, entrepreneurship and innovation management, and technology based new venture creation. The practicum will guide students through the process of identifying a new business concept, developing their technology, and preparing their business for market readiness.

How to apply

Entry requirements for Toronto Metropolitan University

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.

  Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration, subject to competition individual programs may require higher pre-requisite grades and/or higher overall averages:

  English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)

  Advanced Functions (MHF4U)

  Physics (SPH4U)

  Chemistry (SCH4U)

  Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U)

  Note: The grades required in the subject prerequisites (normally 70%) will be determined subject to competition.

  Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must present grades of 4 or higher in three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects with a grade total of 28 or higher. Subject to competition, applicants may be required to present averages/grades above the minimum. IB Higher Levels with grades of 5 or higher may be considered for transfer credit on an individual basis. Engineering students are not eligible for transfer credits for core and professional engineering courses using IB subjects. IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL ibt: 83-87, TOEFL pbt: 560
