About the course
Build on your successes in the Bachelor of Computer Science, Cybersecurity and IT by completing Honours to enhance essential employability skills in research, intellectual understanding of software engineering, design and information systems, applications development, data analysis and interpretation, problem-solving and oral and written communication.You'll gain a deeper understanding of research theory, design and practice principles introduced in your undergraduate degree. You'll study advanced theory in Computer Science and IT and undertake an original research project under the supervision of expert staff from La Trobe's Department of Computer Science and Information Technology to produce innovative and evidence-based solutions.
Design a research project in IT that utilises appropriate research design and methods.Implement and evaluate novel IT-based solutions using research methodologies to address real life problems, in accordance with professional standards, Develop relevant skills for professional career progression including critically analysing research literature, advanced and practical problem-solving theories, data analysis and system design and development, Effectively communicate both in written and oral formats to technical and non-technical audiences.

Entry requirements for La Trobe University
To enter our undergraduate programs, at a minimum you’ll need to have completed Australian Year 12 (or an accepted international equivalent) with a certain grade. You may also need to meet subject prerequisites.
