About the course
Actuarial science deals with the application of mathematics, statistics, and the principles of finance to the construction and management of insurance and pension systems. The Actuarial Science major curriculum prepares students for careers with insurance companies, consulting firms, and governmental agencies. Courses offered cover the material of the associateship examinations of the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society, although it is not expected that a student will complete these examinations in the course of the undergraduate program. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of Wisconsin - Madison
Freshmen applicants are required to submit academic records for the equivalent of US grades 9–12, as well as any external examination results. Accepted students must complete their studies and earn their respective credentials (certificates, diplomas, etc.) before enrolling. Generally, admitted students have an Internet-based TOEFL score in the 95–105 range (587–620 on the paper-based test) or an IELTS score of 6.5–7.5. TOEFL must be submitted electronically from the testing service. We do not accept the IELTS electronically. Please have a paper copy of your results sent directly from the testing agency to our office through the mail. Be sure to give additional time for this process.
