Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) - Interior Design

About the course

Learn to design spaces that are both functional and aesthetically appealing at a university whose interior design graduates are consistently recognised at the Design Institute of Australia's Graduate of the Year awards.

Conceptualise, develop and present your designs using models, drawings and digital walk-throughs.

Learn from real-world practitioners who are active in the industry and who’ll share insights and opportunities that’ll give you a competitive edge.

Complete up to 100 hours of work placement in a real interior design practice.

Develop your skills in our advanced design studios and work with students in other disciplines on exciting real-world projects.

Complete an overseas study tour and experience a different culture while learning about international design trends.

Graduate with a highly regarded qualification recognised by the Design Institute of Australia and take advantage of the projected 16.2% growth in interior architecture jobs by 2025.

Your interior design degree begins with introductory impact lab units where, working with students from other disciplines, you’ll address contemporary challenges and identify potential solutions through partnering with industry and the community.

Your studies will centre on design process, theory and technology, including 2D and 3D digital drafting. Building on these foundations, you’ll delve into design psychology and the sociocultural aspects of design, as well as your choice of units from other areas of study.

Later in your degree, you can transfer your skills and knowledge straight to the workplace and gain practical work experience with our work integrated learning program.
