About the course

The 3 plus2 Program in Ethnomusicology is an innovative collaboration between the University of Rochester?s River Campus Music Department and the Musicology Department at the Eastman School of Music. This program offers students interested in exploring ethnomusicology the opportunity to pursue an accelerated Masters degree, offering River Campus music majors the opportunity to delve into ethnomusicology at the graduate level and reducing the cost of a graduate degree for qualified students. BA requirements: Complete required theory, history, musicianship and keyboard skills, and performance requirements (studio instruction and ensembles) of one BA music tracks, must include a World Music (MUR 121 or MHS 281 or 282) course. The student must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in required courses. An entrance audition/interview at ESM is required as part of admission to the MA.
