About the course
The Secondary World Languages Area of Concentration is an innovative, vibrant and growing unit at the University of Maryland. Housed in the Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership (TLPL) in the College of Education, this program offers degrees and teacher certification in World Languages Education. It is a double major in language and education. This program powerfully combines theory, research, and practice throughout its coursework and teaching internships.A unique feature of the program is the variety of ways in which Second Language Education components are combined in preparing students to adapt methods, materials, and curricula to a variety of culturally and linguistically diverse settings in the United States and abroad. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of Maryland - College Park
Your institution must submit an official copy of your high school transcripts listing all courses you have completed from all schools attended. Where appropriate, include official results and certificates of completion from national secondary school examinations such as GCSE/GCE, CBSE national and regional, CXC/CSEC and WAEC. Transcripts must be sent in the native language along with a certified English translation. The SAT or the ACT is required. If neither the SAT nor the ACT is available in your country, submit a written request for a waiver of this requirement with your application. Applicants who don’t submit some form of official standardized testing may be at a competitive disadvantage.
