About the course

At UCSB there are two tracks that lead to the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. The Core Philosophy Track exposes the student to a wide range of philosophical issues and areas and to the major philosophers in the tradition. The Ethics and Public Policy Track is designed for students who intend to pursue careers in law, government, and medicine, and in general for those who are interested in moral and legal problems confronting the community and in the responsibilities of the various professions. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of California - Santa Barbara

Freshman applicants are students who have:

　　Completed their secondary education and have earned a certificate of completion which enables them to be admitted to a

　　university in their home country

　　Never been enrolled as a university student

　　Take the ACT with Writing Test, SAT with Writing or SAT with Essay by December of your last year at secondary school

　　Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination:

　　Internet-based test (iBT): Minimum score of 80 or better

　　Paper-based test (completed prior to Oct. 2017): Minimum score of 550 or better

　　Revised paper-delivered test (completed Oct. 2017 or later): Minimum score of 60 or better

　　International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination (academic modules): Accepted with a 6.5 or better
