About the course

The instrumental performance concentration is designed for those who wishes to prepare for a professional career in performance or other creative pursuits. The program focuses on development of technique, musicianship and repertoire for instrument.

  The performance concentration is designed for the undergraduate student who wishes to prepare for a professional career in performance or other creative pursuits. The program focuses on development of technique, musicianship and repertoire for either voice or instrument, and includes applied instruction, participation in ensembles, and the study of music theory and music history.

  New Orleans is a vibrant musical city where performance opportunities abound, from symphony orchestra to avant-garde opera, and UNO Music students have the opportunity to become active members of this community. The applied faculty are leaders in the professional music community of New Orleans and are members of the most prominent musical organizations of the region, including the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Orleans Opera, and the Jefferson Performing Arts Society.
