Music is art in sound, universally beloved and an essential part of every culture on earth. People around the world use music to celebrate, commemorate, communicate, worship, and share their deepest emotions—to express what words cannot. Students who major in music can focus on the art of performing, the history of music, music technology, the role of music in culture, and methods of teaching music. Learn from acclaimed faculty. The music faculty at WSU includes Fulbright Scholars and national award winners, including the American Prize in Composition and nomination for the Pulitzer Prize.
