About the course

Students in the School of Languages, Cultures, and Race (SLCR) study languages other than English, as well as the cultures where these languages are spoken. The study of Japanese allows for direct access to people and cultures other than one’s own and helps develop international understanding and sensitivity. We live in a complex world where global awareness, cultural understanding, and intercultural communication are vital aspects of business, government, and education, indeed of all human interaction. How to apply

Entry requirements for Washington State University

To be considered for admission to Washington State University as a freshman, a student needs to complete at least 12 years of school, culminating in an appropriate secondary certificate or external examination. (We may consider the first year or two of university in some countries to be secondary level.)

　　Schooling should include preparation in humanities, mathematics, basic sciences, and social sciences.

　　WSU requires a minimum grade point average of 2.70 (on a 4.00 scale) for admission as an international freshman.
