About the course

The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts Studies (IAS) is a unique undergraduate program for students who wish to pursue future careers in arts media and technology by integrating disciplinary content in the arts with non-arts based specializations. Instead of a traditional major and minor, students select three fields of specialization, each of which meets the minimum requirements of a departmental or interdisciplinary minor, and two of which must reside in the TCVPA. Areas of study include digital media production, theatrical and sound design, game design and development, motion graphics and digital animation, and music technology. The B.A. in IAS is ideal for students preparing for careers in creative media industries, or who plan to complete graduate or advanced degrees in arts media and technology.

　　Students may select one of two curricular tracks within the IAS degree program. The arts media track combines traditional studio-based coursework in the fine arts with interdisciplinary training in electronic media and digital media production. How to apply

Entry requirements for Texas Tech University

Submit original or attested copies of high school transcripts and any exit examinations taken. Documents may be sent electronically for admission, but if you are admitted to Texas Tech University, you must submit OFFICIAL, FINAL TRANSCRIPTS upon arrival.

　　If your documents are in a language other than English, please submit complete and official English translations together with the original language records. The translation must be from an American Translators Association-certified translator/translation service or the academic institution.

　　Proof of English proficiency must be submitted through one of the following ways. Please see “English Language Proficiency – Requirements and Waivers” below.

　　SAT I or ACT test scores are required for students that are graduating from a high school within the U.S. These scores are NOT required for students graduating from a high school OUTSIDE of the U.S., but can be used as proof of English Proficiency and are required for scholarship consideration.

　　The minimum TOEFL score required to show proof of English Proficiency is 550 (paper-based version) or 79 (internet-based version). TOEFL score must be received directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS), Texas Tech University's institutional code for International Undergraduate Admissions is B100. TOEFL scores are valid for only two years.
