About the course

The mission of the Department of Dramatic Art is to educate students to think critically and write cogently about the creative and artistic processes of theatre, its literature, and its history. The Department of Dramatic Art (DDA) gives its majors a broad understanding and appreciation of theatre on artistic and cultural levels. In the classroom, students study the history of theater and develop skills in performance and production. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular dramatic productions. Entry requirements for University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

　　All applicants are required to submit a statement from an official at their secondary school. This is often a University Counselor at your school, or an advisor, headmaster, or other official.

　　We require one letter of recommendation from a teacher who has taught you in your secondary school.

　　We require all applicants, regardless of where they are from, to submit SAT or ACT scores.

　　All non-US citizens and non-permanent resident students for whom English is not their first language must submit test scores to demonstrate their English proficiency.
