About the course

The unique, interdisciplinary Climate Studies major explores the relationship between societies and climate change. The curriculum prepares students for the important work of socio-ecological problem-solving. The innovative curriculum includes perspectives from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, and it includes faculty in all undergraduate schools at Vanderbilt.

　　Because climate change and other environmental problems are complex, they often require multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement solutions. The climate studies major and the associated minor in environmental and sustainability studies are designed to provide students with experience in understanding the value of different perspectives and how to communicate across the disciplines.
