About the course
Learn how to support children, youth and families as a professional child and youth care worker through the Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care. You'll take three practicums during your degree, with the third practicum being eight months long in a supervised child and youth care setting. You'll graduate ready to take on team leader or supervisory positions in your community. Entry requirements for Douglas College
High school graduation OR minimum 17 years of age by the end of the first month of studies in the semester of entry to Douglas College, and Minimum overall grade average of 60%. International Baccalaureate (IB) English Language A – Standard Level :- Minimum grade of 3 or C. IELTS (Academic Module):- Overall score of 6.5, TOEFL iBT:- Overall score of 83. Requirements, admission to the BA in CYC requires the following: 19 years of age by November 1st of intake year 75 hours of work or volunteer experience (click link to download form) in a CYC setting – hours MUST be completed prior to mandatory selection/orientation weekend official high school or post-secondary transcripts including a C or higher in Grade 12 English or equivalent A current resume, attendance at a MANDATORY selection/orientation weekend.
