About the course

The department of Chemistry offers 5 undergraduate degrees as well as a minor in chemistry. The B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Chemistry with Polymer option offer greater concentration in chemistry and are accredited by the American Chemical Society. The B.S. in Biochemistry bridges the chemistry and biology disciplines and adheres to the standards established by the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The B.A. degree allows students sufficient time to minor in another subject. Useful minors include biology, business, or a foreign language.

　　The Department of Chemistry offers ACS-approved bachelor?s degrees with options for emphasis in physical chemistry, polymer chemistry, and biochemistry. Graduate degrees at the PhD and MS level are offered in the areas of organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and biological chemistry. Faculty research is recognized internationally and is funded by multiple grants from agencies like the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
