About the course

The Chemistry Department at UIndy aims to prepare students for a wide variety of careers upon graduation, which is why we offer several concentrations. The concentrations are not designed to limit students. Instead, they provide them with a focused course of study that allows for the development of more specific skills. Students are not limited to the courses the concentration requires and are free to take courses that are in other concentrations.

　　Chemistry is more than learning how to balance equations and memorize the periodic table. At UIndy you will see the world as a place full of chemistry ? from the reactions in the environment, to the digestion of food, to pharmaceutical manufacturing. Looking through a chemist?s eye, you'll also develop an understanding of the ethical implications of chemistry in society as you learn the process of scientific investigation and interpretation of findings.
