About the course

Chemistry is the study of the properties and reactions of the natural and synthetic substances that constitute the world around us. The Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry brings together the disciplines of physics, materials science, medicine and biology to give students a strong theoretical background while teaching them how to apply that knowledge to a range of biological and physical systems. Coursework is enhanced by state-of-the-art research facilities with multi-user capabilities in computational chemistry, surface analysis, nuclear magnetic resonance and photoelectron spectroscopy, and more.

Entry requirements for University of Arizona

  Prospective first-year students must:

  Have a 3.00 recalculated grade point average (GPA) (a B or better where A=4.00) from a secondary school. Please note: GPA recalculation occurs during the admissions evaluation process and is based on grades from courses outlined in our competency requirements below.

  Have three years of high school work. Please note: If you are currently in high school, UA needs to see 9–11 grade work. If you have completed high school then UA needs to see 10–12 grade work.

  Have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
