About the course

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree is for those interested in a broad, liberal arts approach to their education with a concentration in art.The BA degree curriculum contrains a higher percentage of general education courses and fewer studio courses than the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in studio art.By selecting this path, the students pursues 45 credit hours in studio are and art history coursework. Students take courses in a broad range of media, earning about one-third of their degree requirements in art and art history coursework. Many students choose the BA path in order to double major in another field of interest. This degree allows for flexibility to pursue wide-ranging interests and career paths, and to study abroad for a full semester. The School of Art offers a BA and BFA degree with a concentration in 2D art. We emphasize the equipping of young artists whose ambitions are to become shapers of culture, whether as practicing artists, educators, or creative professionals. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Tennessee

Official transcript(s) required. If you have completed any high school academic work outside the United States, we will calculate an academic core grade point average based on years 9, 10, 11, and any part of year 12 that you have completed. Your submitted transcript of academic work must also have a certified literal translation into English for any documents submitted in other languages. Receiving a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 523 on the paper-based test or 70 on the Internet-based (iBT). Receiving an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) minimum score of 6.5.
