About the course

The BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree at Cardiff Met is professionally accredited by the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. As such, students may obtain substantial exemptions from these bodies’ professional examinations.

　　The course will provide you with a comprehensive introduction to all areas of accounting and prepares you for further study at the final stages of professional accounting qualifications. ​

　　Students selecting the sandwich option undertake a yearlong work placement between their second and third years of study. In addition, we have an ongoing strategic partnership with Graham Paul Chartered Accountants, which provides paid 12-week summer placements for a number of Cardiff Met students, with a view to offering permanent graduate training contracts.

　　Four years full-time if undertaking foundation year.

How to apply

Entry requirements for Cardiff Metropolitan University

IELTS - 6.0 overall with no sub score lower than 5.5, TOEFL Internet Based Test​ - 72. Foundation route: Applicants will preferably have a minimum of five GCSE passes including English Language and Mathematics* at grade C or above / grade 4 or above (for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England) and 32 UCAS Tariff Points from at least 1 A Level (or equivalent). Five GCSE passes including English Language and Mathematics* at grade C or above (grade 4 or above for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England), plus 112 points from at least 2 A levels (or equivalent). Typical offers may include: 112 points from at least two A levels to include grades CC, Welsh Baccalaureate – Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate considered as the third subject. RQF BTEC National Extended Diploma/Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma DMM. 112 points from at least two Scottish Advanced Highers to include grades DD. 112 points from the Irish Leaving Certificate at Highers to include 2 x H2 grades.
