About the course

The natural world is intrinsic to human life, but people?s experience with the environment varies widely and this impacts their values and how they learn to interact with the natural world. IESS at Trent brings together the principles of both Indigenous Knowledge and Western science to explore complex topics such as climate change, community sustainability, and Indigenous health and environment through a cross-cultural, transdisciplinary approach. This degree also offers an additional layer of exploration: co-op work terms. In the Indigenous Environmental Studies/Science Co-op stream, you will participate in three paid placements that will have you engaging in real-world leading environmental workplaces to help you chart the course of your career and consciousness of the natural world. You?ll learn to generate solutions to complex local, regional, national, and international issues facing Indigenous and all peoples and communities around the world. How to apply

Entry requirements for Trent University

High School diploma.

　　Non-Ontario, other Canadian Secondary School Diploma Requirements - Minimum 70% average , Each applicant is reviewed on an individual basis for meeting English Language Proficiency requirement. See the English Language Proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and exemptions.

　　Application and Documents Requirements , Use OUAC 105 or Trent direct application.

　　A high school in-progress or, if completed, final transcript. Normally, an in-progress transcript must include Grade 12, 1st term results.

　　Submit your transcript via MyTrent.

　　Submit your English language proficiency test results via MyTrent if you wish to provide further evidence of your English language proficiency.

　　Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, a final high school transcript including a confirmation of graduation must be received as soon as it becomes available. International Baccalaureate (IB) Requirements - IB Diploma - Minimum overall score of 26 (including bonus points) in IB diploma.

　　IELTS - 6.5, with no band below 6.0, TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) -The minimum acceptable score for regular admission is 86 IBT, or 580 PBT with a minimum TWE score of 4.5, Pearson PTE Academic - 59
