About the course
This programme is for people who are both budding scientists and artists. You'll have the opportunity to explore art and creative practice and to pursue postgraduate research in science. You?ll choose one of 13 specialisations available within Advanced Science: Applied Physics, Chemistry, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Ecology, Environmental Change, Geology, Green Chemical Science, Marine Science, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology and Statistic). You?ll combine your scientific specialisation with study in contemporary art, choosing from a range of art media and practices. These include ceramics, photography, installation, performance art, print, moving image, digital media, sound art and more. In your final years, under the guidance of mentors, you?ll complete two independent research projects ? one scientific research project and one contemporary art research project. This conjoint will enhance your scientific research, creativity and critical thinking skills to help bring out the best in you and enhance your career options. This programme offers a strong foundation for continuing into postgraduate research. Alternatively, you can add to your scientific knowledge with critical thinking, creative problem-solving and artistic perspectives to help you navigate the changing world of work.
