A major in Software Development provides you with the understanding and skills to work as a part of a team to reliably produce high-quality working software to meet a client's needs.   As a part of this major, students complete a Software Development project which provides the opportunity to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills learned in previous units, in the context of designing and building a substantial software development system in diverse application disciplines.Working in groups for an external client combined with academic supervision, you will carry out the full range of activities including requirements capture, analysis and design, coding, testing and documentation. This exciting unit allows you to use agile software methodology and make use of professional tools for the management of this project.

  The Bachelor of Advanced Computing is designed with your computing career in mind. This accredited degree by the Australian Computer Society will develop practical and theoretical skills across the computing, information technology and business transformation industries. You have the choice to graduate after three years with the Bachelor of Computing or continue to complete advanced professional and research skills in your fourth year. Entry requirements for The University of Sydney

Admission this course is on the basis of the following criteria:

  a secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), or approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.

  TOEFL-IBT score - A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing

  IELTS score- A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
