About the course

You want to support and improve the lives of children, young people and their families. This top-up course is designed to develop your knowledge in child development, law, ethics, safeguarding and the debate around the contemporary issues of challenges for children.

  The knowledge and skills you'll develop will boost your qualifications to degree level and start you on the career path to becoming a leader in your community and making a difference in people’s lives.

How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Cumbria

Successful completion of a related foundation degree, HND or DipHE.

  All places are offered subject to an applicant having a successful DBS check before commencing the course.

  Successful completion of a related foundation degree or HND.

  GCSE English Language Grade 4 (C), or equivalent.

  Applicants from courses based at institutions other than the University of Cumbria will be assessed on their suitability depending upon the modules they have studied.

  GCSE / IGCSE / O level English / IGCSE English as a first language- Grade C

  IELTS- 6.0 (with at least 5.5 in each component)

  TOEFL iBT - Overall 72 Reading - 18, Listening -17, Writing - 17, Speaking - 20.
