About the course
Here, you will learn about education from many different viewpoints from across the world. You will think about curriculum, learning, teaching and what inspires young people to grow and flourish, with a focus on English as a subject specialism.Working with English specialists in the School of Humanities, you will explore a range of genres focusing on texts relevant to the school curriculum. This provides the opportunity to develop subject knowledge relevant to the classroom whilst also exploring language and literature at degree level. Our innovative two-year degrees provide an opportunity to gain a first degree while focussing on your future ambition of becoming a teacher. This is ideal if you're convinced you want to teach English to secondary school children, if you're thinking of changing your career, or if you're looking to gain a specialist first degree. You'll focus on key issues in education and schooling, and have opportunities for work-based experience in the UK or overseas, and be introduced to education-related research. We have guest lectures and visits from members of the local educational community as well as visits to a range of education-related settings. You will have the chance to explore topics of particular interest to you and to develop your communication and research skills. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
