About the course

Prepare for a four-year Construction Management program by completing Shoreline's Construction Management Pre-Major. Construction Management combines the studies of business, project management and construction. Construction Managers work directly with government officials and project subcontractors, from architects and engineers to plumbers and painters, to manage the planning, design and construction of a project from beginning to end. Construction Managers plan projects, estimate and manage costs, hire technical building experts, schedule and coordinate work, monitor quality and safety and ensure projects deliver within deadline and budget.

　　Part of Shoreline?s General Transfer program, this Major-Related Program includes specific courses to fulfill the requirements of the Associate in Arts ? Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA) and leads to a specialized degree.

　　The AA-DTA, known as the direct transfer degree, is an agreement between Washington state community colleges and baccalaureate institutions. The credits earned in the AA-DTA transfer as a package to most baccalaureate colleges and universities in Washington, satisfying most, if not all, of the lower division general education requirements and granting junior standing, it does not guarantee admission. The AA-DTA Major Related Program (MRP) prepares students for entrance into construction management majors at particular four-year schools.
