About the course

The Associate in Arts in Theatre Arts for Transfer degree prepares students for transfer to California State Universities (CSUs). Students who complete the Associate in Arts in Theatre Arts for Transfer degree will be ensured preferential transfer status to CSUs for theatre arts majors and majors in related disciplines. The Associate in Arts in Theatre Arts for Transfer degree requirements will fulfill the lower division major requirements at many CSUs. Students are advised, however, to meet with a counselor to assess the course requirements for specific CSUs.The Associate in Arts in Theatre Arts for Transfer degree provides an introduction to theatre history, play analysis, acting and theatre production. Students will develop their abilities to analyze dramatic literature and their theatrical skills in a variety of disciplines both onstage and backstage. They will be able to apply their perceptions as multi-faceted theatre artists to contemporary theatrical practice through their classwork and participation in departmental productions. Entry requirements for Foothill College
