The Ph.D. program is research-focused. It provides an opportunity to deepen your chemical engineering knowledge through pursuing a research project chosen from within a broad range of specializations. Coursework can draw from many disciplines. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of Rhode Island
The Ph.D. requires a bachelor?s or master?s degree in chemical engineering, candidates from other engineering fields or from mathematics, biology, chemistry, or physics may be accepted into the program with possible addition of prerequisite courses.
A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in the undergraduate career that can be confirmed with official transcripts from the institution (some programs may require a higher or lower GPA).
An overall score of 80 or above, Minimum scores in the following areas: Reading: 20, Writing: 22, Listening: 17, Speaking: 17 (the suggested minimum speaking score for international teaching assistants is 23). The minimum score on the Paper-based TOEFL is 550. IELTS: Required minimum score of 6.5.
